2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid, Astonishing Hyundai SUV Unveiled

2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid

Overview

2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid is set to mark a new chapter for the popular family SUV, ditching diesel engine in favor of an eco-friendly petrol-electric hybrid setup. This shift follows in the footsteps of the smaller Hyundai Santa Fe, which also set to be transitioned from diesel to hybrid power, despite diesel accounting for over 80% of sales at various points during its lifecycle.

Hyundai is also bidding farewell to its 3.8-litre V6 petrol engine, replacing it with a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit, which will form the backbone of the new hybrid system. This move not only reflects the industry’s growing demand for more sustainable powertrains but also promises improved performance and efficiency.

Design & Dimensions

Design-wise, the new Palisade takes inspiration from luxury SUVs like the Range Rover, sporting boxier proportions, bold LED lighting elements, and sleek metallic rear window pillar trim. The model will be available with a choice of 18-, 20-, and 21-inch alloy wheels, along with new color options like Robust Green Pearl, Ecotronic Grey Pearl, and Crazy Blue Pearl.

The 2026 Palisade boasts significant growth in size, measuring 5060mm in length, 1980mm in width, and 1805mm in height, with a wheelbase extending to 2970mm. Compared to its predecessor, it’s 65mm longer, 5mm wider, and 55mm taller, with a 70mm longer wheelbase, making it larger than most of its competitors.

Interior and Features

Inside, Hyundai offers a high-tech, luxurious cabin. Flagship models feature dual 12.3-inch screens arranged in a curved panel, housing the latest infotainment systems, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite navigation, and an AI-powered voice assistant. While Hyundai retains physical dials for air temperature control, other functions like seat heating and fan speed are managed via a small touchscreen.

2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Seating

The Palisade is expected to maintain its top seating capacity of eight, with an optional seven-passenger layout featuring second-row captain’s chairs for added comfort.

The top models will offer heating and power-adjustable seats across all three rows, with ventilation for the first and second rows.

Premium features include Nappa leather upholstery, a head-up display, a 14-speaker Bose sound system, and even a UV-C sterilization function to sanitize items in the glovebox.

Safety

Hyundai’s commitment to safety is evident with a suite of advanced features, including Highway Driving Assist 2, adaptive cruise control, and lane-centering technology.

Engines and Performance

The non-hybrid Palisade will be powered by the new 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering 207kW and 422Nm, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and available in either front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).

Despite its smaller engine, the new Palisade is only slightly more fuel-efficient than its V6 predecessor, with a fuel consumption range between 10.3 and 12.2 liters per 100 km, depending on the variant.

2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Powertrain

The standout powertrain, however, is the hybrid. Combining the 2.5-litre turbo engine with a 54kW electric motor, the hybrid system generates a combined output of 246kW, making it the most powerful petrol-powered Hyundai to date.

While fuel consumption figures for the hybrid have not been confirmed, similar hybrids in the lineup, such as the Santa Fe, have shown up to a 40% reduction in fuel usage compared to their petrol counterparts.

Suspension

Additionally, the Palisade will feature adaptive suspension technology, which uses cameras to read the road and adjust the suspension firmness accordingly for a smoother drive.

Looking Ahead

As Hyundai prepares to launch the 2026 Palisade in North America, you can expect a significant update in both technology and powertrain options.

2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Pricing

While official pricing for the new model has yet to be confirmed, it’s anticipated that the 2026 Palisade will see a price increase compared to the current 2025 Palisade version, which starts from $38,000 to $55,000 before on-road costs in the US.

Jeep Recon EV – A Wrangler Spirited E-SUV from Jeep

Jeep Recon EV

Overview

The Recon bears striking resemblance to the concept shown in 2022, with removable doors , all-terrain tires and short overhangs.

Jeep’s EV Ambitions

Jeep is now marching full throttle in the EV world with Recon as its second Global E SUV. It was originally showed in 2022 alongside the sleek Wagoneer S & rugged Avenger.

While the Avenger has already placed in showrooms earlier in 2023 (sorry, it is staying overseas only), however the Jeep is in working to launch Wagoneer S soon in the US market.

Jeep Recon EV Suspension

It is safe to assume that Jeep Recon EV is built to climb rocky & tread rough terrains

Unlike the Wrangler, the Recon will be driving on an independent suspension that won’t be as sturdy as its wrangler’s solid axles, but this should be helping to better the ride quality and Recon will be having all-terrain tires and features short front and rear overhangs that will make climbing up and over obstacles easier.

Recon Doors

Also as can be clearly seen, the Recon will have removable doors (thus elevating its adventurous side).

Though in it’s spirits the Jeep Recon is electric version of the highly respected Wrangler, but we believe there are certain differences between the two. For instance, their looks, the Wrangler looks more of adventure type & Jeep Recon looks more adapted to the family usage (by this, we mean a nice compliment).

The Recon will likely be the heavier one, as it’ll have a hefty battery pack that will be powering the electric motors.

Power

The all-wheel-drive EV should be mightier too, likely having more power than the Wrangler’s gas or hybrid versions.

Price & Launch

It is expected that you might be able to lay you hands on Jeep Recon soon somewhere in early 2025.

As for how much it’ll cost, we’ll have to wait for an official price update but we’d Reckon it’ll start somewhere around $60,000.
