Unveiled as a concept, It’s an EV seems to be taken out of Super Mario Video Game. A more realistic explanation, of inspiration, would be, to take an Hyundai Inster EV, pumps everything up to be a bigger, sportier & futuristic, you will have an Insteoid.
Insteroid Vs Inster EV
The Insteroid builds on the Inster, a compact electric SUV that has already made waves in Europe and Korea. While the Inster is a practical urban EV, the Insteroid is an amped-up, racing-inspired vision. Its 21-inch wheels, aggressive wheel arches, and bold rear spoiler give it a muscular look.
Straight Out of a Game Design
Insteroid embraced gaming-inspired aesthetics. It features Pixel LED headlights, aerodynamic air vents, and a diffuser, which looks race ready. The control buttons, instrument cluster, and even the brakes have all been reimagined with a digital edge.
What’s Under the Hood?
While Hyundai hasn’t revealed specific performance details yet, however, the Insteroid is expected to pack more power than the Inster EV, which comes with 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery options, offering a range of up to 230 miles (WLTP). Given its extreme styling, the Insteroid could be a preview of a high-performance trim of the Inster in the future.
When Can We See It
Hyundai will officially unveil the Insteroid at the Seoul Mobility Show in April 2025, where we’ll get a clearer look at whether this concept is just a design exercise or a glimpse of what Hyundai’s bringing in its lineup. Either way, the Insteroid is fun, bold, and anything but ordinary.
