The Recon bears striking resemblance to the concept shown in 2022, with removable doors , all-terrain tires and short overhangs.
Jeep’s EV Ambitions
Jeep is now marching full throttle in the EV world with Recon as its second Global E SUV. It was originally showed in 2022 alongside the sleek Wagoneer S & rugged Avenger.
While the Avenger has already placed in showrooms earlier in 2023 (sorry, it is staying overseas only), however the Jeep is in working to launch Wagoneer S soon in the US market.
Jeep Recon EV Suspension
It is safe to assume that Jeep Recon EV is built to climb rocky & tread rough terrains
Unlike the Wrangler, the Recon will be driving on an independent suspension that won’t be as sturdy as its wrangler’s solid axles, but this should be helping to better the ride quality and Recon will be having all-terrain tires and features short front and rear overhangs that will make climbing up and over obstacles easier.
Recon Doors
Also as can be clearly seen, the Recon will have removable doors (thus elevating its adventurous side).
Though in it’s spirits the Jeep Recon is electric version of the highly respected Wrangler, but we believe there are certain differences between the two. For instance, their looks, the Wrangler looks more of adventure type & Jeep Recon looks more adapted to the family usage (by this, we mean a nice compliment).
The Recon will likely be the heavier one, as it’ll have a hefty battery pack that will be powering the electric motors.
Power
The all-wheel-drive EV should be mightier too, likely having more power than the Wrangler’s gas or hybrid versions.
Price & Launch
It is expected that you might be able to lay you hands on Jeep Recon soon somewhere in early 2025.
As for how much it’ll cost, we’ll have to wait for an official price update but we’d Reckon it’ll start somewhere around $60,000.
